In May 1974, a Norwegian bulk carrier ship named the Sygna Bergen ran aground during her maiden voyage. Guests travel 26 kilometres down Stockton Beach to reach the massive wreck where they then enjoy their morning or afternoon tea, endless dunes and unspoiled ocean.
On the return trip from the Sygna, the hidden wonders of the dunes only remote fishing village called ‘Tin City’ are discovered. The Sygna Tour also incorporates adrenalin pumping sandboarding for the adventure seeker as passengers have the chance to board down dunes up to 30 - 50 meters high, with slopes of 60 degrees.
Guests are given the chance to view and learn about WWII and historical sites, take part in pipi catch and release demonstrations, and take advantage of the endless photographic opportunities.
